- Pre-invasive stage of cervical cancer
- Dysplasia of squamous cells which occurs at the transformation zone
- Detectable by cervical screening
Cervical glandular intraepithelial neoplasia (CGIN)
- Origin from endocervical epithelium
- Pre-invasive phase of endocervical adenocarcinoma
- More difficult to diagnose on cervical smear than CIN, screening less effective
